Our History

Russ’s Drilling & AAA Pump Co. is proudly owned and operated by the Asmus family—Russ Jr., Niki (“Mrs. Russ”), and their son, Little Russ. Our roots run deep in Central Missouri, where we’ve been serving the community for over 40 years. The business began in the early 1980s when Richard Asmus moved from Nebraska to Missouri and started going door to door offering water well pump installation and service. Soon joined by his son, Russ Sr., they expanded into full-service well drilling after acquiring their first drill rig. Russ Jr. was born into the business in 1985 and began tagging along on jobs from a young age, learning every aspect of the trade firsthand.

As Richard stepped back, Russ Sr. took over the pump operations, working closely with Russ Jr. for many years. Their bond as father and son, coworkers, and best friends shaped the heart of this company. In 2014, Russ Jr. took ownership with hopes of continuing the legacy through Little Russ. By 2018, Niki officially joined the full-time crew, making it a true family-run operation.
